Father's Day Blessings
Father’s Day reminds me that life’s greatest blessings aren’t found in the so-called big moments but in the everyday. A backyard cookout, talking around the dinner table, a grandchild’s laugh, or simply having family together under one roof - those are the things that make our lives special.
These days I find myself thinking more and more about the men that came before me. My father wasn’t the type to seek attention or recognition. He believed in doing what needed to be done, taking care of his family, and treating people with respect. He taught me that character is built one day at a time through hard work, trust, and perseverance.
Looking back I realize how many of those lessons shaped the person I became. As a father and grandfather I’ve tried to follow his example. Not perfectly, of course, but with the understanding that being present, offering encouragement and shared experience can leave a lasting impact.
Father’s Day isn’t really about celebrations or getting a new necktie for me. It’s about appreciating the people who helped guide us, remembering the values they passed down, and being thankful for the opportunity to pass those same values on to the next generation.
To all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures, thank you for all the ways you make a difference. May your Father’s Day be filled with family, memories, good food, and the simple joy of being together.
God Bless,
